For quite a while I’ve been thinking that most of the world’s problems are a result of us humans doing things. Even when we think we’re doing the right thing, there can be unintended negative consequences. In fact, it seems like everything we do carries positives and negatives with it, though we can try to minimize the negative as much as possible. Moreover, often the consequences happen way beyond our awareness. So, the way to least harm it seems is to stop doing things. Just be. Savor the moment. Smell the roses. Notice, notice, notice the world around, the beauty in everything.
I found a video “Music and Life” with the words of philosopher Alan Watts on YouTube that puts it nicely. Enjoy!
